JARED and JANA PARSONS
LEAD PASTOR / Women’s and children’s Ministry
Jared served as the campus director for Navigators at NYU Tandon from 2018-2023. During that time he started a campus club that has grown into a flourishing ministry that has seen students come to faith, grow in discipleship, and be developed as leaders. Jared is a gifted communicator and loves engaging people far from God, building teams, and developing leaders. For the past 6 years Jared has served as a teaching pastor at New City Church and brings a unique balance of wit and Biblical understanding to the text each time he speaks. He enjoys weird sci-fi movies and being disappointed by his home team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Jana and Jared did collegiate ministry together and now Jana brings that experience to bear on discipling women and teaching kiddos to love Jesus. Her joy is raising her wild and oddly-wise-for-a-toddler son, Oliver. She enjoys slightly less weird movies and is much more optimistic than Jared about the Cornhuskers.
Katie Lilly
WORSHIP MINISTRY
Katie has been serving with New City Church for 4 years and has been leading worship for one year. She attended the Baptist College of Florida and has a degree in Contemporary Worship Ministry. She is a full time operations manager at a hotel in midtown and is regular at a CrossFit gym in Astoria.
Jamie Tulenko
FINANCES/CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Originally from Kentucky, Jamie moved to NYC in 2015. She began attending New City in 2018 and has been part of the leadership team in some capacity ever since. In the past she served on the welcome team and as a community group leader. Currently Jamie volunteers with the children’s ministry in addition to monitoring and maintaining New City’s bookkeeping and financials.
